Martello Transport is a new and fresh thinking company formed just over two years ago. Based in the Port of Felixtowe they provide nationwide container haulage services currently using a modern fleet of 65 vehicles. They have grown dramatically since they were formed in 2017.

The company was set up by Ivan Smith and Danny Huwen after leaving senior management posts with one of the UK’s largest hauliers. Their aim is to deliver a first-class service for a very competitive market rate, whilst drawing on 35 years of experience in the industry between them. Truckcom helps Martello Transport to deliver an efficient and cost-effective service while providing a personal approach from a small and dedicated team.

Both Danny and Ivan had used Truckcom daily for several years in their previous positions, so it was an obvious choice for their new business.

Ivan comments “We set Truckcom up on-line for a free trial. It is easy to get started and we were able to set our own preferences. Using Truckcom in our new venture was like coming home for us”.

Although some of the team had previous experience of using Truckcom Danny added “We have a new member of our team who has only been with us for a month and has found Truckcom very easy to use. Everyone has their own preferences for the layout of their screens. There are still a lot of functions in Truckcom that we have yet to explore, so the system has a lot of potential for the future”.

Ivan adds “It’s great that our customers can log on to track their deliveries and that electronic PODs can be supplied immediately on completion of a job. The bigger we get in the future the more we will use the Truckcom system for”.
